Saint Anthony Catholic School (SACS) is a K-8 educational program grounded in the Catholic Formation at its core. It is a program that is "Christ-centered and Student-focused." The centerpiece of the curricular program is known as the STR2EAM Model. It is a multifaceted, interdisciplinary program unique to SACS that employs the specific disciplines of Science, Technology, Reading, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics to educate our valued students using this combination of subjects in a holistic methodology.
The basic premise behind the STR2EAM program is to teach our students to view simple and complex problems and issues in a very systematic and holistic manner. Then, using all the disciplines at their disposal, how to solve problems through project-based learning. It involves exploring how each field or a combination of disciplines contributes to resolving issues that they will face in real-world situations.
STR2EAM attempts to transform teacher-centered classroom instruction into a more student-centered exploratory learning experience for our students. This approach endeavors to engage higher-level cognitive abilities in all our students as they progress from Kindergarten to eighth grade. The end state of this implementation is to produce students who are confident, self-assured, and capable of addressing complicated real-world problems.
